Operation Comfort Me

Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Matthew Hersch of the U.S. Navy wants to make a difference, and you can too. While stationed at Camp Eggers in Kabul, Afghanistan, he saw little children without warm clothing and families without food or proper medical care. The living conditions of many of the Afghan people are due to no fault of their own, but rather the turmoil of their embattled country.

We Can Make a Difference

To make a difference, LCDR Hersch has been working with Volunteer Community Relations (VCR) in establishing a way to raise funds for their mission.  VCR is a community outreach program that provides clothing, blankets, school and other supplies to Kabul's poor and displaced persons, and Afghan refugees who have come back to Afghanistan from Pakistan.  Simply put, VCR’s mission is to help those who have nothing.

Your donation made through Celebration Donation to Operation Comfort Me will be sent directly to the Camp Eggers VCR Mission.  Your gift will purchase food, coal, blankets, medicine or whatever the needs are for our less fortunate Afghan brothers and sisters.
